The athletic program at FBS provides valuable learning experiences for the growth and development of our students. The classrooms are the fields and courts, and the lessons learned serve our children for a lifetime. Athletes learn skills and techniques of a sport while they develop character. Through athletics, students have many opportunities to glorify our heavenly Father. Righteousness, a submissive spirit, obedience to authority, self control, self discipline, self worth, hard work, and teamwork are only a few of the Godly principles and characteristics that students have an opportunity to learn and apply through the FBS athletic program. Dedicated coaches and parent volunteers help young people relate to the victories and to the defeats through hard work, teamwork, and their daily walk with the Lord.
At FBS, our students are our number one concern. We have organized sports for the benefit of the students. It is the goal of the athletic department for each sport to make a contribution to the overall development of the athlete, school and community. Integrity, respect, and sportsmanship are essential to this process. Although today’s society places great emphasis on the worldly benefits of sports and athletics, our mission is to instead develop the Christian character of these young warriors. We also hope to provide witness to the glory of God through the arena of athletics. Jesus said to Christians, “You are the light of the world.” Our desire is to prepare our athletes to be the lights of the world.
